Google Adsense Tips

Do you want to make more money in your home business. If you sell stuff online one program that does pay pretty good, is easy to implement, and pays on time is Google Adsense.

In this article we will look at how to make more money than you currently are and how to do it with Google's pay per click advertising program.

1. First of all you need to read the program policies and procedures. Google is very strict as to what they will and will not allow you to do when you are placing ads on your website. Be sure and do it right the first time and save you grief down the road.

2. Locate your ads in the hot spot of your website. This means above the fold and as close to the upper left hand corner as possible. The reason is very simple. To get people to click on your ads they need to be seen.

3. Use the rectangle 336 X 280 ad in your premium spot. This is the most popular ad and will earn you the most money.

4. To make more money everyday with Google you want to limit the number of Google Adsense ads to 3 or less per page. The more ads you have on a page the less they begin to pay. It benefits both you and Google to have the highest paying ads showing up on your page.

5. You want to blend your ads into the page. People have become blind to ads on the internet. They just do not care about them. By blending your ads into the page you've a better chance to get them clicked on. This may mean using a white border.

6. When you surf the internet what color are you used to seeing links. Blue! Keep your links blue and people will be more apt to naturally click on them because that is what they are clicking on all day long.

7. Google offers some really neat features for tracking and one of them is channels. If you have more than one ad unit per page, you can set up a channel for each unit. Again you are better off to stay at less than 3 ads per page. Channels let you know what ads are working best.

8. Check your stats periodically. You want to see your click through rate and your cost per click. By knowing how many visitors it takes to get a click and how much you are making per click you can decide if having a Google Ad on that page is worth it or not.

9. Make sure the ads that are coming up are relevant to the page. If not consider if you have content that is bad, or if your meta tags are set up wrong. Maybe even your header graphic has a bad alt tag.

Google Adsense is definitely one way to make more money everyday on the internet. If you do it right it can help your business as well.

Making money with Pay Per Click advertising is not just limited to Google. I wanted to quickly mention that many ppc companies have affiliate programs that pay you for placing ads on your site.

Some of the more popular ones include Bidvertiser, 7Search, SearchFeed, and Yahoo Marketing. Each one have their own rules and regulations so be sure and know them before you go placing ads on your site. Google themselves will not let you place similar ads on a page with their ads so be careful.

The fastest and easiest way to make money online is to get paid for a click. This article should give you some ideas on how to do that.

How to Blend Adsense Ads With your Website

Adsense is a wonderful opportunity for you to generate additional income for your website. It doesn’t cost you anything is the best part! Adsense is also very simple. You have to complete an application with Google and be accepted to host advertisements for other businesses. Then you simply add lines of code to the html on the pages of the website where you are willing to have advertisements. With that all in place, how do you blend the Adsense Ads into your website so they don’t stick out like a sore thumb? You don’t want them to distract the consumer from what you are offering on your website.

You may not be aware of it, but you have a lot of say in how the advertisements are placed on your website including the placement, format, color, and style. There are many places on a website to put Adsense Ads. Some prefer to place it on the top of the page and others like the bottom of the page. Along either side of the text for your website is convenient too. Since we read from left to right, the right side is more common as it will attract attention as the eyes move across the page.

According to Google Adsense, the most effective location is at the top of the page because the entire ad can be seen. Often parts of it are hidden when on the sides unless the mouse is used to scroll over the information. This can be distracting to the consumer and lose the effectiveness of the advertisement. They also recommend using different colors for the ads to differentiate it from your website materials, but to use colors that compliment each other.

The format can be modified to make it different or the same as your website. Some advertisement hosts like everything to be in the same style and size to give a symmetrical look to the pages. Others like to have their information completely distinct from the advertisements. Both are effective so it is only a matter of personal preference as to how you want your website to appear. Colors including the background can be changed to make everything work together well. You might have to experience a little to come up with the right design you are happy with.

You want to blend the Adsense ads enough that they look natural appearing on your website rather than appearing to be out of place. If they don’t look natural they can be distracting to the consumer. They also won’t be effective because consumers don’t trust what doesn’t look professional when it comes to the internet. This could be damaging to your own sales on your website so pay close attention to this issue. It is a good idea to ask some others for feedback on how the information appears to them on your website. You should avoid placing ads to where they appear to be banners.

Adsense offers you some useful tools as well to get everything to blend. The Google Adsense Preview tools allows you to test the layout of your website with the ads in place. This gives you the opportunity to change anything that is ineffective before your consumers view in over the internet. You can also contact their customer support 24/7 for questions or concerns you may have.

Adsense is a great way for your website to generate additional income by offering to host advertisements for other businesses with similar products and services to offer consumers. You are still in control of the layout and design of your website.

What makes the idea of participating in Adsense more appealing is the fact you have the ability to change the color, format, and style of the ads placed on your website.

Top Adsense Tips And Strategies

Google Adsense has made a huge impact on internet advertising and it is not short of being a revolution. The fact that more and more people are using Adsense today is the proof of its success. It is a concept that can provide businesses, small and large with a good ROI and generate targeted traffic by creating a high visibility over the internet.

You should start applying Adsense if you have been losing money instead of gaining in any kind of affiliate programs. Google through its Adsense service is providing high quality and relevant ads, which match up to the content on your website. To add to this is the search engine, which will take care of most of the searching. Another salient point is that you will not have to spend too much time choosing various types of ads for your website pages. Google's Adsense process makes it easy for you because it doesn't involve codes like it is the case for several affiliate programs.

Adsense Tips

AdSense is something on the lines of a set and forget arrangement thanks to the state-of-the-art technology used by Google. Here are some strategic tips of what to do with Google Adsense and what not to do with it.

1. While working on Adsense, you should try and avoid default settings, instead work towards customizing your ads.

2. When you are writing the content, think about your reader and then target your content through Adsense.

3. One mistake that most businesses or people make is looking at AdSense as a competitor; instead you should look at it as a partner that is going to help generate revenue for your business and create visibility over the internet, and in fact provide you with a winning edge over your actual competitors.

4. You need to position the ads correctly. This is highly important if you want to profit you're your Adsense campaign. You need to place your ads where you feel there is a higher probability for people to see it.

5. With Google, you can place three instances of AdSense code per page. You should use this to your advantage but remember you need to also bring a variety to the implementation.

6. If you have implemented the code on your Adsense ads then refrain yourself from clicking on the ad. Note: Google is extremely sensitive to click fraud.

7. One of the things that many people try is game the system. Google is aware of most of the things or tricks that people apply and is notorious for pursuing people caught doing a click fraud.

Here is a list of Don'ts:

1. Don't try to implement your AdSense code in a palce where people won't be able to see it.

2. There are many people who try to offer incentive to visitors so that they click on the AdSense ads. This is a no-no!

3. Never beg people to click on your ad

4. Never place your AdSense ads on empty pages.

Making money from the Rates

The Google Adsense ads can be easily customized, which is one of the reasons for its popularity. They can also be placed anywhere on your web page but it is always advisable to place them where people will be able to see them and click on them. You can always experiment a little with themes & colors and of course the placement but you should never go overboard. Too much of experimentation can kill the main purpose.

But before you can start with Google Adsense, you need to be aware of the rates, which can vary. Your Adsense strategy should revolve ideally around the rates because you will receive your payments per click and it will all depend on how much you are willing to pay per click to place an advertisement using AdWords. The minimum that advertisers pay is around 5 cents and it can go to as much as $10, and even more. For example: lawyers are paying around $75 for using the keyword mesothelioma.

Making Money with Adsense

If you currentlu use Google Adsense on your site or plan to do so, the following article provides some helpful information to help you tweak your ads.

If you are just starting online with your first website, you have quite a learning curve in front of you. I know that your learning curve is still long, because I have been making money online for years, and I am still learning new stuff everyday.

Every year, more people are coming online. And every year, people struggle to figure out how to tap into the economic engine powered by the Internet. The one thing that newcomers to the Internet frequently fail to realize is that those of us, who are making the most money online, spent years learning our trades.

The good news is that Internet newcomers have one major advantage that my mentors and myself did not have when we started our online enterprises. The newcomers have people like us who are willing to teach others what they have learned.

First And Most Important Lesson To Learn

There are three kinds of commercial websites on the Internet: product/service merchants, advertising providers, and non-profit websites.

Now, the Red Cross and the United Way are non-profit websites by choice and mission. But, the majority of non-profit websites on the Internet were designed to be for-profit websites, but the website owner will have been lucky to have earned enough to pay their web hosting costs.

By the end of this article, I hope that I will have provided you enough information to be able to turn any non-profit website into a profit generating machine.

Merchants sell services. They also sell products made by others or themselves. Some merchants produce their own informational books and e-books, on a wide variety of topics.

Many people make the mistake of assuming that they do not know anything of value that other people would want to know. But, that just isn't true. Call me an optimist if you will, but I believe everyone knows something that other people would be willing to pay a certain amount of money to learn.

Ii is a fact that some of the smartest online entrepreneurs I know make a lot of money by writing and selling books and e-books, on topics ranging from cryptograms (http://www.cryptogramsbylouise.com/), to how-to cure acid reflux (http://www.refluxgoneforever.com/), to finding the hero within (http://www.herosoul.com/), to how to be more successful with an online business.

I have bought many e-books and I have to say that some were better than others, but all of them helped me to learn what I needed to know in order to be successful with whatever endeavor I was undertaking.

Advertising Providers build websites with the intent of attracting a huge and loyal audience, so that advertisers will consider their website to be a good place to spend their advertising dollars.

In those dark days before Google Adsense (http://adsense.Google.com) and Yahoo's Publisher Network (http://publisher.yahoo.com/), we little guys were just tough out-of-luck if we wanted to sell our advertising space through a larger network of advertisers.

I remember having a website that was finally serving one thousand unique page views per day, or 30,000 page views per month. I remember thinking that it was time for me to see whom I could sell advertising space. So, I started doing my research.

I looked at one advertising network, and then another, and another. Without fail, most advertising networks required one million page views per month in order for a website to participate in their network. I was just poop out of luck.

So, I started advertising space on my site to my visitors. I sold some advertising, but I did not make a living doing it. The main issue here is that the people on my site are looking to learn about travel and other things, and advertisers generally spend their time on sites learning about doing business online.

Then in 2003, it all changed with the rollout of Google Adsense. Suddenly, all I needed to do was to apply to participate in Google's program. On approval, I could add one little piece of javascript code to my website, and I could start earning money from Google immediately, by making their client's advertising available on my own website.

Finally, my information website had a method for earning money that did not require for me to spend all of my waking hours chasing one sale after another.

Some Background

When I started my first online business, I had set up an Yahoo store (http://www.yahoo.com). I did very well with it, but after a couple years, I realized that I did not want to keep doing the same thing for the rest of my life.

Three rooms of my home were committed to storing merchandise that I was buying for resale. When I made a product purchase, I had to take photos and then sit down to my computer, upload the image and make an appropriate product description. Then I had to spend all of my spare time, making new listings at Yahoo and running to the post office to ship the merchandise I had sold.

One day I realized that the reason I had started my business is to provide my family a better standard of living. I had accomplished that goal, at the cost of time with my family. I was literally working from the moment I got out of bed, until I collapsed into my bed at the end of the day.

After parting ways with Yahoo, I researched other profit models and settled on a membership site. In order to be successful with a membership website, one must be willing and able to add new good quality content to the website at least three or four times per week. That is a job in itself.

While my membership site did well monetarily, I found myself in a position similar to when I had my Yahoo store. I was spending all of my spare time with my business and not my family.

Finally, I Wrapped My Head Around The Solution

What I needed for myself was a website where I could sell other people's products and services, then let the other person handle the entire process of collecting the money and delivering the product or service. I needed to build my business in such a way that I could build my website, when I wanted to invest the time, and I could collect my checks at the end of the month.

The advertising website is the best kind of site to have when your goals are the same as mine.

So, I embarked on building a website that had information on a wide variety of topics.

Three years after I started my current website, Google launched their Adsense program. I applied to Google's Adsense program and was accepted within just a few days. I then applied my Google Adsense code to my website.

Over the years, I have been building links to my website so that people could find me. The articles and directory links have produced good traffic results for me on a consistent basis, since I started the process of building them.

The Next Lesson Can Literally Double And Triple Your Income

When you undertake to design a website that will host advertising, don't be shy about it!

• Don't stick your advertising in a corner somewhere; • Don't design your advertising to look like something other than an advertisement; • Don't be afraid to test your advertising placement; • Don't be afraid to tell people that they can buy advertising on your website; • Don't be afraid to charge good money to advertisers to have a placement on your website.

Don't be afraid and don't be shy. Your reason for putting advertising on your website is to give YOU a way to make money from your work. But, in order to keep your advertisers happy, you need to make sure that they get a good return for their investment.

When you can help your advertisers make money, then you will by extension earn money from your website. It is a beautiful concept; when I help put money in my advertiser's pockets, they put money in my pocket.

Specific Tips To Maximize Your Advertising Click-Through Rates (CTRs)

The default link color on the Internet is blue; so make the links in your advertising blue.

The default text color on the Internet is black; so make the text in your advertisement black or whatever color is the default text color on your website.

Make your advertisement block stand out from the rest of the content on the page. Putting your ads directly in your visitor's face is good. Within a text block, I have found the 300x250 to be the most effective ad block size. To see an example of the 300x250 text block in action, view my blog here: http://www.clintondouglasiv.com

Other ad block sizes that we have seen good results include: the 728x90 leaderboard, 468x60 banner, and the160x600 wide skyscraper.

Be The Next Advertising Success Story

I advised a friend of mine to make these kinds of changes on his own website. He already had great traffic, but he was not making as much money as I thought he should be making.

On my suggestion, he changed his Google ads from the bottom of his left sidebar to the main part of his pages. He told me that his CTR increased from 0.8% to 2.4%. I told him to change his ads from the 468x15 link unit to the 468x60 banner ad. He told me that his CTR increased from 2.4% to 4.7%. Then I told him to change his links from black to blue. Within just a few weeks, he reported back to me that his click-through rates jumped again, this time from 4.7% to 7.8%. He even reported that on some individual days, his new layout generated as high as 11.4% CTRs.

On my friend's website, his CTR jumped from 0.8% where it had been for a couple years, since he started using Google Adsense, to 7.8% on average. While most webmasters will see an average increase of two- to three-times, my friend has experienced a nearly tenfold (+9.75%) increase in his advertising revenue through that website.

What could you do with ten times more advertising revenue from your website? You will never know until you implement these kinds of changes on your website to increase your own advertising revenue.

How To Improve Your Adsense Earnings

Adsense is great way to monetize your website and make extra money if you are a webmaster. Many webmasters struggle to earn some good money every day through their websites. But then there are some webmasters enjoying making hundreds of dollars a day from Adsense ads on their websites. What makes these webmasters successful is that they think out of the box.

The webmasters who have been there and done it, have some useful tips to share with those who would want to venture into this area. These tips have been successful in greater earnings in the past for webmasters and continue to do so.

These are proven ways on how to best improve your Adsense earnings for your websites.

a) Concentrating on one format of Adsense ad. The Large Rectangle (336X280) Adsense ad is the one format that worked well for the majority of websites. This type of format resulted in higher CTR, or the click-through rates. Why choose this type of format out of the many you can use for your Adsense ads? These ads look like normal web links, and web surfers are used to clicking on them as links. Web surfers may not know that the link they are clicking is a Adsense ad from your site but clicks mean money and that will result in cash for your pocket book.

b) A custom palette for your Adsense ads. Choose the right color that will showcase well with the background colors of your website. If your website has a white background, use white as your color for the Adsense ad background and border. The whole idea behind the patterning of the colors are to make the Adsense ads blend with rest of your web pages. Again, This should result in a lot more clicks from web surfers visiting your website.

c) Remove Adsense ads from the bottom locations of the web pages on your website and place the Adsense ads at top locations. Do not hide Adsense ads, place them where web surfers can see them quickly and you will be amazed to see your earnings increase just by the new placement of the Adsense ads.

d) Maintain links to other relevant websites. If you think some the websites are better off than the others, place your ads there. If there is already lots of Adsense ads on that site, place your ads above of all of them. That way web surfers will see your Adsense ads first when browsing that website.

e) Automate the placement of your Adsense ad code into your webpages using SSI (or server side included). Check with your web administrator if the server supports SSI first. How to do it? Create and save your Adsense code in a simple text file, save it as “adsense text”, and upload it to your web server in the root directory. Using SSI, call the code on other webpages. This is a great tip and a time saver especially for webmasters using automatic webpage generators to create webpages for their website.

These are some of the Adsense ad tips that have worked very well for webmasters who want to generate hundreds or thousands on their websites. It is important to know though that Adsense ads are displayed because it works with the interest of the web surfers viewing these ads. So focusing on a specific topic should be your main purpose because the Adsense ads will be especially targeted on a topic that web surfers will be viewing already and are interested in that topic.

Note also that there are many other Adsense sharing the same topic as you. It is best to think of making a good ad that will be somewhat different and unique than the ones already done. Every clickthrough that visitors make is a point for you so make every click count by making your Adsense something that web surfers will definitely click on.

These tips given by webmasters who have boosted their earnings are just guidelines that they want to share with other webmasters. If they have somehow worked wonders for some, maybe it can work wonders for you too. Try these tips out on your Adsense ads and see the result they will bring. Others have made money with these tips why not you.

Google Advertising Tools: Cashing in with AdSense, AdWords, and the Google APIs

Google Advertising Tools: Cashing in with AdSense, AdWords, and the Google APIsis a great resource for those looking to make extra income with Google AdSense. Monetizing your site takes a lot of work but, if done properly, can generate a good income. From the review:

When it comes to advertising on the web, you just can't argue with the numbers. A $7 billion market today is expected to grow to $18.9 billion by 2010. Jupiter Research also estimates that search advertising will be a larger share of the market than display advertising by 2010. These phenomenal numbers are due largely to Google, which has changed the way the world publishes content - and advertises.

Google Advertising Tools from O'Reilly examines the business and technology behind making money with content and advertising on the web. This focused, easy-to-read guide shows you how to use Google's advertising services to make it happen. You'll find all the background information you need to work with Google AdSense, which automatically delivers text and image ads that are precisely targeted to your site, and Google AdWords, which lets you generate text ads that accompany specific search term results.

This book has specific and detailed sections on:

  • Turning your web site into a profit center with AdSense
  • Making sense of AdSense metrics
  • Driving traffic to your site
  • Optimizing sites for search engine placement
  • Working with AdWords campaigns, auctions, and reports
  • Managing campaigns dynamically using the AdWords APIs

Once you've read all four parts, you'll have a comprehensive picture of how advertising works on the web and how you can use the Google advertising programs to your advantage.

The Basics of Google AdSense

Many people believe that all it takes to make some quick cash online is to simply throw up a website or blog, put some Google AdSense ads up and wait for the cash to roll in. If only it was so easy! There is money to be made using AdSense, but like anything else, it takes a lot of research and work to be successful. If you are new to AdSense and would like to understand the basics of it, the following is a good overview.

Many online business owners who are intrigued with Google's Adsense program will normally create a spectacular site and dream about the prospects of making "easy money". If it was only that easy. After a short period time, usually within a few weeks, the web site owner faces a stark reality when the results reveal an account that has very little income or absolutely nothing. From there, the ambitious marketer usually seeks out new methods of how to make money with Google Adsense or simply changes course and seeks out a new venture. However, the Adsense program can certainly be a lucrative option when the correct methods are chosen and used properly. In order to generate substantial amounts of traffic and clicks, there are several initiatives that must be produced.

The first step toward creating a successful Adsense site is recognizing the importance of choosing a niche that will bring in visitors and the methodical research which is critical to the enterprise. Keywords play a crucial role and will help to determine the quality and quantity of traffic flow. The amount of traffic to any Adsense site is tantamount to the number of clicks that will be generated - more clicks equals more income. Although this is not a secretive Google Adsense tip, it's worth noting that visitors and their clicks are the lifeblood of the business.

Once the site is established and operational, it is imperative to acquire tools that will monitor your site for observational and planning purposes. Generating a daily web site traffic report will afford you the opportunity to scan the visiting and clicking habits of your online surfers and adjust your site accordingly. These software packages are available through internet searches and typically fit within any budget. Choose the package that best suits your needs.

As the Adsense site continues to grow and flourish, it is necessary to perform routine maintenance each day. Regularly scheduled updates are mandatory and fresh material should be uploaded to the site daily. Search engine optimization dictates that these steps be followed with regularity. Otherwise, the site will become stagnant and the search engines will "spider" much less and, as a result, the site will be rendered virtually useless. Updating is the key - once again, more clicks equals more income.

When trying to learn how to make money with Google Adsense, it is essentially required that web site owners follow the previously mentioned steps as a blueprint for success. Having a healthy Adsense income originates with superb research and ends with click galore.
